In the issuer's words: iUSD is the native stablecoin of the Initia network, backed 1:1 by Agora's AUSD bridged to Initia via LayerZero. Unlike traditional stablecoins where the yield from reserves accrues to the issuer, iUSD's yield flows back into the Initia ecosystem.
iUSD supply history
iUSD supply fell 34.9% over the past 30 days, to $1.7M. Its peak was $5.4M in June 2026, and supply is 69% below that high.
Is iUSD holding its peg?
iUSD is trading within 0.5% of its target, which is normal for a healthy stablecoin.
Where iUSD lives: supply by blockchain
Supply is concentrated: Initia holds 100% of all iUSD. Moving it to another chain means bridging, or a mint and redeem through the issuer.
How iUSD is backed
iUSD is minted against crypto collateral locked in smart contracts, usually worth more than the stablecoins issued, with liquidations or hedges protecting the peg.
Minting and redemption: iUSD is minted on Initia 1:1 against AUSD bridged in via LayerZero from Ethereum and Arbitrum. Holders can redeem iUSD by burning it on Initia to unlock the underlying AUSD, which can then be redeemed for USD through Agora.
iUSD risks
A sharp crash in the crypto collateral can outrun liquidations and leave the system under-backed.
Bugs, governance attacks or bad price feeds can drain collateral or trigger wrongful liquidations.
With $1.7M in circulation, exiting a large position may move the price. Redemption may be limited to approved customers.
Rules such as the US GENIUS Act and the EU's MiCA can restrict which stablecoins exchanges list in a given country.
