Samsung brings USDC on Solana to 82 million Galaxy devices
Samsung Wallet will enable USDC cross-border transfers on Solana for U.S. users in October 2026, reaching 82 million Galaxy devices.
Starting the last week of October 2026, U.S. Samsung Wallet users will be able to send money across borders using UUSDC$0.9996▼0.03% on Solana — and at launch, that feature sits on 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices. From the announcement published by Solana News.
Woncheol Chai, Samsung Electronics’ EVP and Head of the Digital Wallet Team at the Mobile eXperience (MX) Business, said in that announcement: “Samsung Wallet is about making useful experiences feel simple and intuitive. Stablecoins have the potential to make moving money around the world faster and easier, and we want Galaxy users to be able to take advantage of that without having to navigate the complexity of traditional crypto tools. Solana helps us bring that experience to Samsung’s scale.”
Lily Liu, president of the Solana Foundation, said in the same announcement: “For a decade, stablecoins have proved the technology works. What they lacked was a way to reach the mainstream. Samsung’s decision to work with Solana puts digital dollars into everyday life through one of the world’s most trusted technology brands. This level of adoption is what we built Solana for, and we’re seeing the moment when stablecoins stop being a crypto product and start being how people move money.”
Those are strong claims, and the network numbers give them something to stand on. Solana’s September ecosystem roundup put USDC transactions on the network at 420 million over one month, with 6.2 million sending addresses active in that window — roughly 67.7 transactions per sending address, though that average doesn’t tell you much about distribution across the base. Stablecoin supply hit a record $17.51 billion, up nearly 20% year over year. According to Solana’s Oct. 7 announcement, Solana processed more than $5.25 trillion in stablecoin volume during 2026 alone.
That September snapshot recorded 13.07 million stablecoin-holding wallets on Solana by the last week of the month. Set that against 82 million launch devices and you get roughly 6.28 Galaxy devices for every existing stablecoin wallet on the network — a measure of footprint gap, since one figure counts blockchain wallets and the other counts hardware.
Samsung’s integration follows 2026 activity from PayPal and Western Union, both identified in the Solana announcement as major enterprises already using the network for stablecoin activity. Samsung adds a consumer-wallet channel alongside those examples.
U.S. Samsung Wallet users are the immediate beneficiaries and can begin cross-border USDC transfers in the last week of October.
At publication, CoinGecko lists SSOL$115.01▼3.03% at $115.02 and USDC at $0.99967.
