Kraken flags SUI, ALEO and transfer delays at once

Kraken experienced simultaneous funding disruptions for SUI, ALEO, and internal transfers on October 2, following September delays across 23 services.

Kraken flags SUI, ALEO and transfer delays at once

Kraken started October 2 with simultaneous problems across distinct funding and transfer channels. Its Sui (SUI) funding gateway was under investigation for potential deposit and withdrawal delays, and the exchange separately reported that funds moving between spot and Kraken Futures were backed up.

The SUI incident opened at 10:31 UTC, per Kraken Status. Eight minutes later, at 10:39 UTC, Kraken said it had identified the issue and begun deploying a fix. The fix was in place by 10:46 UTC, with the exchange in monitoring mode.

A distinct Kraken Status notice flagged funding delays for Aleo (ALEO). The available documentation doesn’t identify the cause, the affected transaction types, or an estimated resolution time for that one.

The cross-exchange transfer problem was also marked fixed. Kraken said at 10:45 UTC it had implemented a fix for delays between spot and Kraken Futures and was watching the outcome.

In these notices, “fixed” describes an operational change; the notices do not confirm that all delayed transactions had cleared or specify how long the ALEO delay ran.

The desk’s relevant comparison is Kraken’s September funding disruption. Crypto Briefing reported that Kraken announced withdrawal delays on September 8 tied to funding issues across 23 services, and that a deposit freeze had been running since September 4 across more than 20 blockchain networks — four days by the calendar. Crypto Briefing reported that order books, price feeds and trade execution continued during that earlier episode, while funding operations were disrupted.

The October notices covered two named assets, SUI and ALEO, plus transfers between Kraken’s spot and Futures venues. That differs from a single-asset or single-chain interruption and could constrain users trying to deposit, withdraw or move funds between Kraken venues. The available notices don’t establish a shared root cause for the October incidents.

Kraken’s parent company, Payward, is pursuing tokenized-asset ambitions and integration with Nasdaq and the London Stock Exchange, according to Crypto Briefing. The notices do not establish how these operational incidents relate to Payward’s tokenized-asset ambitions.
