Binance shifts ZIL network support, ends UAH services
Binance is discontinuing Zilliqa mainnet support, migrating ZIL to ZILEVM, and ending UAH fiat services and the USDT/UAH spot market for Ukrainian users by September 28.
Binance will discontinue support for the Zilliqa (ZIL) mainnet and migrate deposits and withdrawals to the ZILEVM Network, according to a September 22 Binance Team notice. The exchange said the migration will occur at a 1:1 ratio.
The immediate network cut already happened. Binance suspended ZIL deposits and withdrawals through the Zilliqa mainnet at 01:00 UTC on August 5. Spot, Margin, Futures and Binance Earn services remain available during the migration, so the change affects transfer rails rather than the trading and earn products listed in the notice.
For ZIL holders, the key operational question is where a deposit or withdrawal is sent. Binance said it will reopen ZIL deposits and withdrawals through ZILEVM after the migration, without further notice. The exchange did not provide an exact reopening time in the September 22 notice.
Binance’s notice links the migration to a security incident that led the project team to announce the move from the Zilliqa mainnet to ZILEVM. It does not identify the incident’s nature in the material available here.
The second change is regional and affects fiat access. In a September 23 Binance Team announcement, Binance said it will close UAH deposits and withdrawals through Fiat Trade UAH and delist the UUSDT$0.9999▲0.00% /UAH Spot trading pair at 09:00 UTC+2 on September 28.
That deadline applies to both services. Binance said open orders on the USDT/UAH pair will be removed automatically after trading stops. Remaining eligible UAH balances will then be converted automatically into USDT by 18:00 UTC+2 on September 30.
The fixed rate published by Binance is 1 USDT for 46.5 UAH. At that rate, 1,000 UAH works out to about 21.505 USDT, calculated as 1,000 divided by 46.5. The final amount for any individual balance depends on whether Binance classifies it as eligible for the automatic conversion.
The two announcements therefore create different deadlines for different users. ZIL holders must use the supported network once the migration is complete, while Ukrainian users holding UAH on the affected Binance channel face a September 28 cutoff for deposits, withdrawals and the USDT/UAH market, followed by the September 30 conversion deadline.
The ZIL change follows the project’s security incident and preserves trading access during the network migration. The UAH decision removes a Binance fiat on/off-ramp for Ukrainian users and eliminates the exchange’s stated UAH-denominated USDT spot market. Binance did not state specific reasons for ending UAH support in the September 23 announcement.
